Hi Resident We will be conducting bike registration for residents bicycles in Beddington park, outside Pavilion Cafe in conjunction with BikeRegister.com BikeRegister is the UK’s National Cycle Database with over 1.3 million bikes registered. It aims to reduce cycle theft across the country and enables owners to be reunited with their bikes if they are stolen and recovered. It is endorsed by many organisations including the British Transport Police and the Metropolitan Police. It is the only police-approved database and every police force in the UK uses BikeRegister to search for bikes they recover to see if they are reported stolen. This information is available to them 24/7 through the website and app. The BikeRegister website also offers a number of different features that you can use including: BikeChecker which allows police, non-police, retailers and members of the public to search the frame number or BikeRegister ID of any bike to see if it’s listed as stolen, Check your Area which lets you see the levels of reported thefts to BikeRegister in different postcodes Stolen Bikes page that lists all bikes that have been marked as Stolen on BikeRegister and allows anyone to message the bike owner directly if they suspect they have seen the bike for sale online.
